New for 2025 Preseli are delighted to announce the first ever closed loop recycling program in the UK promotional industry.
Customers who buy any of our polyester or recycled polyester lanyards can return them for reuse and recycling.
This program was launched in January 2025 at the UK outdoor industry exhibition SLIDE & OTS. The outdoor industry has a long history of pioneering sustainability and this program was one of a series of measures that enable the organisers to reduce the overall impact of their event.
What is "closed loop" recycling?
Simply put closed loop means that these polyester products can be recycled multiple times, being taken back to their raw components and re-made into new products.
If you are choosing our RPET material for your products then that material has already been recycled having previously been a plastic bottle.
Are all the parts recycled?
No, but everything is either re-uesed or recycled
The polyester fabric is recycled and taken back to raw material pellets for making new items, but the clips and fasteners are removed and put aside for re-use on new lanyards.
Does this mean a huge carbon footprint of material moving around the world?
No, reprocessing begins with stripping into components in our own plant with the various other parts of the process then being done by our partners in the UK.
Once converted into raw plastic pellets our recycled material is being made into new products by CHX products who have pioneered the development of planet friendly products for the promotional industry.

What do we need to do to take part?
Its very easy, firstly when choosing your exhibition lanyards or wristbands specify one of our polyester products - this should be easy as they are the most popular items we make!
Keep you client informed about the closed loop process and simply ask them to return the (clean*) used items to us for reprocessing at the address below

Resources for larger events and clients
We have designed a template for card recycling bins for use at larger shows and events that organisers can personalise and use to collect used lanyards.
These can be purchased on line direct from the printers from as little as £12-17 each and can of course be reused for multiple shows.
