My Preseli Work Experience

This year I had to choose a place to do my work experience. I decided to ask my Auntie Bec, who works as the Credit Controller for Preseli, if I could do it with her. Preseli agreed and I began my weeks work experience.
On the first day I felt a bit scared as it was all new but all the Preseli staff welcomed me and were so friendly that I quickly relaxed. I learned how to update and check the prospects database in Promoserve using the internet. I also found out about my Auntie Bec's job and all the work she does in the accounts department.
On the second day I quite enjoyed doing some filing and working out how the different systems worked. I also ensured the samples were placed with the correct job bag so that they can be referred to easily as required.
The third day was my favourite. I worked alongside Simon in the artwork department and was able to learn how to place the artwork on the various product templates and ensure the measurements were correct. I also liked collecting the samples from the warehouse for them to be sent out to customers.
On the final day I wrote this article about my week in Preseli. I also assisted with the samples and continued the work on the prospect database.
I did feel a bit upset, leaving Preseli as the staff have been really friendly to me. This work experience has built up my confidence especially having to talk to new people. I have gained many skills. I enjoyed working alone as well as working with the staff. I have definitely grown in my communication skills.
I look forward to using this experience to help inform me when I start work in the future.
