I have spent the past week and a half at the Preseli office to further my knowledge of being in a working environment, which I think is very different to the school atmosphere that I am used to.
Everybody in the office was very kind and I felt welcomed as soon as I walked through the door on the first day. I had the privilege of working with many of them, learning how their jobs work. For example, I have worked alongside Claire who is in the artwork team to create several e-shots and send out numerous proofing jobs for lanyards of different styles.
Although the work days were longer then what I am used to (school is from 9am to 3pm whereas Preseli works from 9am to 5pm) I was still able to really enjoy the experience of being there.
One part of the placement that I really liked was the variety of activities that I was able to try: accounts with Bec and Charlotte, quality control with Jan also some physical work in the warehouse, such as when we had to unload a large container full of facemasks. Even though it was tiring we were able to complete the job in good time.
Personally, I enjoyed uploading the e-shots with my Dad (Mike) onto the website as I felt like some of my work could be seen by others. I also found it interesting how the website could be edited and changed.
I will miss working in the office and warehouse with everyone, and from the week I now have a clearer idea of what I would like to do in the future.
